Hi!
My journey with the talharpa began in the autumn of 2013 while studying traditional music at the Viljandi Culture Academy. Alongside my violin studies, I also started learning the talharpa – my first teacher was Janne Mängli, whose inspiration quickly made the instrument very dear to me.

My teaching journey began in 2017 on Vormsi island, where I led a group of wonderful local children during a talharpa summer camp. By the end of the camp, it was clear that teaching the instriment on Vormsi had to continue – especially there, where it has the deepest historical roots. For the next four years, I taught the island’s youth, and in the past three years, I’ve had the joy of working alongside Helle Suurlaht to carry forward the talharpa tradition locally.

In addition to my traditional violin studies, I’ve worked as a violin teacher at the Viljandi and Nõo Music Schools and completed the Suzuki Violin Teaching Methodology Level 1 course. I’ve also taught traditional violin and ensemble classes at the Mooste Folk Music School and spent two years as a music teacher at Kammeri School in Tartu County.

I’ve guided both beginners and advanced players in various talharpa and folk music camps and gatherings. For adult beginners, I’ve conducted courses in Tartu and Tallinn in collaboration with the Estonian Traditional Music Center. Currently, I'm leading the talharpa section for the 2025 Song and Dance Festival's Folk Music Celebration, teach talharpa on Vormsi, and offer private lessons in Tallinn, Haapsalu and online.
